Berry Breakfast Trifle

Berry Breakfast Trifle

(Serves 2-3 people)

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup elderberry syrup
  • 1 punnet of strawberries washed and diced
  • 2 almond croissants
  • “George’s” yoghurt or “Meredith’s” yoghurt or a double cream
  • almond flakes, toasted

 

Method

Step 1: Place the diced strawberries in a bowl and soak with the elderberry syrup, for about 30 minutes.

Step 2: Break up the croissants, and distribute evenly into glass goblets or bowls.

Step 3: Add half of the marinated strawberries and a dollop of yogurt or cream, add the remaining strawberries and syrup over the top.

Step 4: Garnish with a few toasted almond flakes
