Pickled Walnuts with Ruby Port - Opies

A great English delicacy, pickled walnuts in ruby port make a lovely accompaniment to cheeses, cold meat platters as well as poultry and game dishes.

These pickled walnuts are harvested before their shells form, whilst they are still green. They are then cooked and pickled in red wine vinegar with the added indulgence of rich ruby port.
